When people design dance costumes, they have to make them very eye-catching and attractive, but also easy to move in. Dance costumes can cover many different kinds of styles. Generally they are made to be tight-fitting and short so that there is little to tangle the dancer.

The most famous kinds of dance costumes are those made for ballet dancers. All of the Tutus and other outfits they wear during a performance are considered to be costumes. The brightly colored ensembles of dance competitions are also costumes.
